Leh Trekking Tour

During this tour, you will be meeting the people living in difficult conditions but gentle and cheerful in nature in this picturesque mountain region of the world. Major religion followed here is Buddhism and you will be able to understand it a bit by visiting some of monasteries.

We begin our journey in search of the Snow Leopard, after spending a few days at Leh to get acclimatised to the high Altitude. The topography of the region combined with remote access to the hills makes the life for tourists and wildlife experts difficult. While on the tour, we will not only look for the snow leopard, but also learn about the environment and its habitat. However you need to be a very patient and keen enthusiast, to improve the chances of seeing a cat called snow leopard.

Leh Trekking Tour - Day 01, Arrive / Delhi

Assistance on arrival and transfer to Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Leh Trekking Tour - Day 02, Delhi / Leh

Early morning transfer to the domestic airport for flight to Leh. Assistance on arrival at Leh airport and transfer to Hotel. Spend the day at leisure to begin acclimatisation. It is very important to get Acclimatised to the high Altitude to your enjoy your further tour. Overnight at hotel in Leh .

Leh Trekking Tour - Day 03, Leh

Spend the morning at leisure. Afternoon explore the Leh town, the capital of the historic kingdom of Ladakh. The beautiful town is a labyrinth of winding narrow streets and bazaars. On both sides of the market, long lines of Ladakhi women, selling vegetables and handicrafts can be seen in traditional dress and colourful coral and jewellery. The 16th century Leh Palace looms large above the town. Later visit some gompas a little over a mile from the market.

Leh Trekking Tour - Day 04, Leh

Take the full day to explore the region. We will be taking excursion to Shey and Thiksey, a finest example of Ladakhi architecture and where we will be visiting some monastries, gompas. This the best place to see the prayers and hear the chanting of the monks in the monasteries with beautiful views of the valley below.

Leh Trekking Tour - Day 05, Leh / Trek

Today you will actually begin your search for the snow leopard and drive to place called latho. From here you will trek to place where you can see the first signs of snow leopard. We will trek further to small village and stay overnight in tents.

Leh Trekking Tour - Day 06, Trek

Today you will be trekking around Tarbung Junction. We will be looking for the predator of the blue sheep which are the main source of prey for the elusive wild cats around the place. The camp is located at a very strategic location from where we can see the two valleys meeting point and a best place for sightings of the wild cat.

Leh Trekking Tour - Day 07, Trek

Start your trek to Yurutse which lies at the base of Gandala pass to the West past Sumdo. This area serves as an ideal habitat for the Tibetan Argali/ Great Tibetan sheep and also known for sightings of Tibetan wolf (depending on cat movement). Overnight in family run Homestays.

Leh Trekking Tour - Day 08, Trek / Leh

Morning walk up Tarbung. After lunch trek back and drive to Leh. Overnight at Hotel.

Leh Trekking Tour - Day 09, Leh / Delhi

After early morning breakfast your will be transferred to airport for flight to Delhi. Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfered to Hotel.Spend the day at leisure or explore Delhi on your own.

Leh Trekking Tour - Day 10, Delhi

We keep a day at leisure in Delhi. It will be an essential buffer day in case of frequent delays, cancellations encountered in flying out of Leh. Overnight at Hotel.

Leh Trekking Tour - Day 11, – Delhi / Departure

After breakfast transfer to airport for flight to onward destination.
