Indian birds and nature tour

The tour is best for both the nature lovers as well as photographers as it provides ample opportunities to for photography and nature walks. You will experience the rich history, culture and real India while walking the streets of Delhi. Jaipur will bring the colourful life and culture of the Royal people of Rajasthan along with its rich history and heritage. We will then try and chase the endangered Royal Bengal Tiger in the open jungles of Ranthambhore national park. Bharatpur bird sanctuary, counted among the finest in Asia is a nature lover’s delight. Enjoy rickshaw ride in the park while bird watching. Last but not the least we will visit the most beautiful monument of love, carved out white marble, The Taj Mahal.

Itinerary

Day 01 – Arrival / Delhi
Delhi, the capital of India is a historical city, attracting the tourists from across the globe. Old Delhi has many historical monuments and temples that are delightful to watch. Cosmopolitan hotels, shopping, and fine restaurants abound. Delhi also offers a glimpse into the real India: the labyrinthine street bazaars of Old Delhi, and the temples and monuments of Indian’s chequered colonial past. In the deepest sense, from Old Delhi’s Red fort and Jama Masjid mosque to New Delhi’s chic art galleries and nightclubs, Delhi is profoundly Indian city. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02 – Delhi
Morning visit the Old Delhi to see the historic Red Fort and the Jama Masjid, India`s largest mosque from the outside. See the colourful bazaar of Chandni Chowk and take a cycle rickshaw ride through the back streets and small by lanes of Old Delhi to experience of the hustle and bustle of this traditional city.

Afternoon visit New Delhi visiting the Qutab Minar, also known as a tower of victory and India Gate - the war memorial and Humayuns Tomb. You will drive past the Rashtrapathi Bhawan, the residence of the President of India, the Parliament house and the Government Secretariat buildings. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 03 – Delhi
After breakfast nature walk in the Okhla bird sanctuary with a well experienced naturalist to see birds. The Okhla Bird Sanctuary came into existence in the late 1950s on the right on the Yamuna River between Delhi and Uttar Pradesh and is now a protected area. It was declared Bird and Wildife Sanctuary in 1990. The migratory birds have been using this area as a staging post for their migration as it provides large space and suitable habitat and food on its banks.

Later we will visit the Akshardham Temple which means the eternal, divine abode of the supreme God, the abode of eternal values and virtues of Akshar as defined in the Vedas and Upanishads where divine bhakti, purity and peace forever pervades. Afternoon free to explore the capital city of India on your own or simply relax at the hotel. Overnight at hotel.


Day 04 – Delhi / Jaipur
After breakfast drive 4 to 5 hrs to Jaipur. On arrival check into your hotel. Jaipur meaning Victory, is the capital of Rajasthan is also known as the “Pink City”. This Pink City of fairy tale palaces, rugged fortresses perched on barren hills and broad avenues, is picturesque. The first planned city of its time, Jaipur is encircled by a formidable wall. It is a marvelous synthesis of architectural influences - Hindu, Jain, Mughal. Most tourists visit Jaipur for its grand monuments, but there are endless shopping places as well. The most popular items are jewellery, textiles and handicrafts. Evening free for independent activities. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 05 – Jaipur
Morning excursion to Amber Fort, The ancient capital of the region. In the afternoon weave through the lively streets of the Jaipur City and visit the pink sandstone Palace of Winds, City Palace with its museum and Jantar Mantar (18 centaury observatory). Overnight at Hotel.

Day 06 – Jaipur / Ranthambhore
After early breakfast drive 3 to 4 hrs to Ranthambhore National Park. On arrival check into your hotel / Camp. Ranthambore National Park is one of the biggest and most renowned national park in Northern India. The famous and former hunting grounds of the Maharajas of Jaipur, is located in the Sawai Madhopur district of south eastern, Rajasthan, which is about 130 km from Jaipur. Today the Ranthambore National Park terrain is major wildlife tourist attraction spot that has pulled the attention of many wildlife photographers and lovers in this destination.

With an area of 400 sq. km encompassing rocky hill crests which descend to open valleys between the Aravalli and Vindhya ranges, dotted with water pools and fruit trees, this park gets its name from the thousand year old fortress, which looms above the forest. Well known for the diurnal activity of tigers. Sambar, cheetal, chinkara, nilgai and languor, the elusive leopard and Royal Bengal Tigers are main mammals found in this reserve. The main attraction of this park is The Royal Bengal Tiger. You need to stay here minimum 3 nights to have better chances of seeing the Tiger in the jungle.

Afternoon game viewing by four wheel drive jeep with your private expert naturalist in the game reserve. Dinner and overnight at hotel / camp. Note: The park remain closed from 01 July to 15 October.

Day 07 – Ranthambhore
In the morning after a hot cup of tea / coffee game drive in to the national park with your naturalist. You need to be really patient to have a good wildlife experience. In the afternoon visit Ranthambhore Fort, from which the park gets its name. Evening game viewing into the national park by jeep with your naturalist. Dinner and overnight at Hotel / Camp.

Day 08 – Ranthamhore
In the morning after a hot cup of tea / coffee game drive in to the national park with your naturalist. You need to be really patient to have a good wildlife experience. Evening game viewing into the national park by jeep with your naturalist. Dinner and overnight at Hotel / Camp.

Day 09 – Ranthambhore / Bharatpur
In the morning nature walk around the park with your naturalist. Return to hotel / camp and after breakfast check out. You will be then transferred to railway station to board train to Bharatpur.

Meeting and assistance on arrival at the Bharatpur Railway station and transfer to Hotel. Bharatpur is popular its bird sanctuary known as “the Keoladeo Ghana National Park”. It is one of the finest bird sanctuaries in Asia and boast of over 400 species of water birds. Once the hunting ground of the ruler of Bharatpur is today a protected breeding ground for many birds including the Siberian crane that spends its winter here. It is spread over 40 Sq kms of swampy lightly wooden terrain. Colonies of cormorants, spoonbills, storks, egrets, herons, pelicans, ibis and grey herons can be spotted all over the park, besides a fairly rich habitation of deer, wild boars, foxes and snakes.

Afternoon you will driven to the Bird Sanctuary gate. Here you can either hike into the sanctuary or hire rickshaw to explore the sanctuary. Earlier boats were the main mode of exploring the sanctuary, but due to the scarcity of water in recent times, it has stopped. Dinner and overnight at lodge at Bharatpur.

Day 10 – Bharatpur / Agra
Early morning explore the bird sanctuary by rickshaw with your naturalist. Later return to hotel for breakfast. Check out of hotel and drive 1.5 hrs to Agra en route visiting the Fatehpur Sikri, a world heritage site, built by Emperor Akbar in 1569 to commemorate the birth of his son and later abandoned due to scarcity of water. Visit the remains. Its fortifications within the city including Jama Masjid, Tomb of Salim Chisti, Panch Mahal and other palaces. On arrival at Agra check into your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 11 – Agra / Delhi / Departure
Early morning visit the mesmerizing Taj Mahal, constructed from marble and inlaid with jade, crystal and sapphire, it is the epitome of love. It was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his queen Mumtaz Mahal and is world famous monument today. After breakfast visit Agra Fort on the bank of River Yamuna of red sand stone and is a fine example of arts and architecture.

Later we will drive you to the Delhi international airport for your flight to onward destination.
