Southern India tour (Karnataka & Goa)

During the journey on the tour you will see some of the most beautiful temples, churches, sculptures, forts and Palaces along with some ruins of the ancient and heritage monuments. You get the first glimpse of modern India after landing at Bangalore, information and Technology hub of India. This is where the information and technology revolution began. Then you move onwards to Mysore, where Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan ruled. Mysore boasts of some of the very beautiful monuments, The Mysore Palace, Lalitha Mahal Palace, Some old churches and temples which are architectural wonders. The place is famous for sandalwood arts, handicraft items and silk Sarees. From here we move on to see some of the most beautiful temples, sculptures and ruins which are now the world heritage site. At the end of the some long journeys, you get some time to relax on the serene and fun filled beaches of Goa.
This tour takes you to some of the lesser known places which are historically rich and interesting.

Itinerary

Day 01 – Arrival / Bangalore
Meeting and assistance on arrival at Bangalore, the Information and Technology hub of India. Evening city sightseeing of Bangalore visiting Vidhan Soudha, Lalbagh and various temples. If you want we can also arrange a trip to the information and technology hub. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02 – Bangalore / Mysore
Spend the morning at leisure. Later drive 3 hrs to Mysore, en route visiting Srirangapatnam, a place of religious, cultural and historical importance. Srirangapatanam was the capital of Mysore during the rule of Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan. On arrival check into the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 03 – Mysore
After breakfast proceed for the city sightseeing of Mysore with your guide visiting various temples, churches, Mysore Palace and the Lalitha Mahal Palace. You can also visit Ranganathethu Bird Sanctuary. Evening visit the markets famous for silk and sandalwood items. Overnight at hotel.

Day 04 – Mysore / Hassan
After breakfast drive 3 to 4 hrs to Hassan en route visiting Sravanbelgola, a famous pilgrimage site of Jain. On arrival check into the hotel. Spend the evening at leisure. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 05 – Hassan
After breakfast excursion to Belur & Halebid, the beautiful heritage towns famous for their temple and their architecture. Both the towns were the part of Hoysala Empire during the 12th & 13th century. Overnight at Hotel. .

Day 06 – Hassan / Hospet (Hampi)
Morning drive 5 to 6 hrs to Hospet, the base station for visit to Hampi. Hospet is famous for its iron ore industry and the Tungabhadra Dam. Evening at leisure. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 07 – Hampi
After breakfast full day excursion to Hampi, one of the most visited and heritage site famous for its ruins. Hampi was once the capital of the kingdom of Vijayanagara and has some of the most beautiful temples. Overnight at a hotel at Hospet.

Day 08 – Hampi / Badami
After breakfast drive 3 hrs to Badami, earlier known as Vatapi, was once the capital of Chalukyas and is famous for its rock cut temples and cave temples. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 09 – Badami
After breakfast city sightseeing of Badami visiting various famous rock cut and cave temples, inscriptions and other important monuments. Overnight at hotel.

Day 10 – Badami (Aihole & Pattadakal)
Today after breakfast we will be on a excursion to Aihole, 22 kms from Badami to see some of the best known temples of the region. Aihole & Pattadakal was declared a world heritage site in 1987. One can spend full day exploring various temples, the beautiful architecture which dates back 750 AD. Some of the best known temples are Virupaksha Temple, Sangameshvara Temple, Mallikarjuna Temple, Jain temple and Papanath temples. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 11 – Badami / Goa
Today we will have to leave Badami a little early as the drive is a bit longer. We will be covering a distance of 345 kms in about 7 hrs en route stopping for rest. You can also order packed lunch for your journey. On arrival at Goa check into your hotel / resort.

Day 12 – Goa
Spend the day exploring the beach town on your own. Overnight at Hotel / Resort.

Day 13 – Goa / Mumbai.
Spend the morning on the beaches of Goa. Afternoon check out of the hotel and board your flight to Mumbai, the commercial capital of India and the hub of Hindi film industry. Assistance on arrival and transfer to Hotel for overnight.

Day 14 – Mumbai / Departure
Morning city sightseeing of Mumbai visiting India Gate and other important monuments. Later transfer to airport for flight to onward destination.
